jfw1415 asked: So when did you decide to do this project?

Amy came up with the idea a few nights ago….to take her mind off college work and brought it up to me.  I thought it’d be good for me to do some photography in the city, and we think it’s going to be a great way to dive into D.C. culture.  When it isn’t raining (like it’s supposed to do all week), we’ll be out taking photos of people in different parts of the city. We’re excited! -Sam

This really amazing guy Danny -the creator of People’s Districtcame to speak at our college last week and he was so inspiring! Everyone has a story to tell, and with his blog he goes around interviewing the people of D.C., discovering their stories. After a semi-breakdown a few nights ago due to freshman stress, it came to me: I could do something just like People’s District, and use it as a creative outlet. I’ve always appreciated all that goes into creating a personal style, and how each person’s is so different, so I decided to put a fashion twist on the idea. I brought it up to Sam (our resident photographer) and she said she’d love to do it. And voila! District of Couture is born. -Amy
